You returned
shooting out of the shadows
to me
dew pearling on your nose
your body
stolen from the punishing dark
from which you were moulded -
indistinct nights without stars
smelling of grass
heart pattering like
wingbeats in your mouth
pulling eyes from feathers
tasting the air for salt

She has had poems published in the 2007 anthology - Heart to Verse, Wordlines from UWI and was also a participant in The Cropper Foundation Caribbean Writer's Workshop, 2010.
